Green Smoothie

Packed with multiple servings of fruits and vegetables and simple to whip-up, green smoothies make the perfect post-workout recovery snack or a healthy, filling way to start your morning.


 
This is just a starting point, try playing around with different combinations of leafy green vegetables and fruits to find your favorite combination!

To Make

1 small frozen banana*
 
1- 2 cups of spinach or kale
 
1/2 cup frozen berries
 
1 tbsp ground flaxseeds
 
1/2 - 1 cup water (depending on how thick you like your smoothie)
 
1 scoop protein powder—keeps you full with good staying power!

Try adding mint for a little sweetness or a squeeze of lime juice for brightness.

*Tip: When bananas start to become over-ripe, peel and freeze them on small baking sheet in a single layer. When frozen firm, pop them into a zip-top bag and keep in the freezer. This works for berries, mango, papaya...almost any fruit.
