These orange slices are a beautiful and tasty accompaniment to cocktails, perfect to give to friends as a gift around the holidays or delicious eaten as a snack!
It is best to use a seedless or low-seed variety of orange, like a navel orange. I also like to choose smaller oranges to avoid slices being too large to fit in your glass.
Try these in our Maple Old Fashioned or Blood Orange Negroni!
Ingredients:
2-4 oranges
¼ cup granulated sugar
½ tsp ground cinnamon
Dash of sea salt
Pinch of ground ginger (optional)
To Make
Preheat oven to 95C/200F.
Wash and dry oranges, then slice as thinly as you can.
Lay oranges on a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix sugar and spices. Sprinkle mixture evenly on the oranges, flip the slices and sprinkle onto the other side.
Dry in the oven for 3-4 hours (the thicker your slices, the longer you should leave them in the oven) and flip the orange slices halfway through.
Remove from the oven, let cool and store in an airtight container.
